What Costviewa Does
Costviewa lets you browse and compare average wages, wage trends over time, and consumer price levels across 38 OECD economies. Every country has its own page with a wage history chart and a price-level breakdown across eight categories, and you can put any two countries side by side using our comparison tool.
Why We Built This
The OECD publishes detailed, valuable statistics on wages and prices. What it does not always provide is an easy way for a general audience to browse that data. Raw statistical series, category codes, and technical terminology are useful for researchers, but they are not the most direct way for someone comparing two countries to find the number they are looking for.
Costviewa exists to close that gap: country pages instead of raw series, charts instead of column headers, and a wage calculator and glossary to make the terminology approachable.
Our Approach to Content
We do not change what the underlying figures say, and we do not add estimates of our own on top of OECD data. The PPP-adjusted wage figures and the United States = 100 price benchmark shown on this site use the same methodology as the source statistics; Costviewa's role is presentation, not calculation. Full detail on where each figure comes from and how it is processed is on our Data Sources page.
Independence
Costviewa is an independent website. We are not part of, endorsed by, or affiliated with the OECD. We reference OECD statistics because they are the source of the wage and price-level figures shown across this site, and we credit that source clearly wherever the data appears.
